AAUASU Is Not Backing Down! 72-Hour Ultimatum Issued to Ondo Govt

The protest is entering another level as the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko Students’ Union Government (AAUASU) continues its peaceful demonstration over the ongoing industrial action affecting students across Ondo State.

And yes, the students are still outside. 😭

For the second day, students gathered to make their voices heard, with the protest secretariat now moved to the Main Gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko.

The message remains simple: students want their academic lives back.

Because at this point, some students are probably looking at their academic calendar like, “Oga, are we actually going to finish this semester?” 😂

AAUASU Gives Government 72 Hours

Things became more interesting when AAUASU issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Executive Governor of Ondo State.

The Students’ Union is calling on the government to take concrete and decisive steps towards resolving the ongoing industrial action and addressing the concerns of affected students.

The union made it clear that the 72-hour ultimatum is not a threat or an act of hostility.

Instead, it is being presented as a peaceful but firm call for action.

And honestly, 72 hours is now the new deadline on campus. ⏰

The union says students have already endured enough disruption, with the industrial action affecting their academic plans, schedules and future.

🎓 Students Are Saying “Enough Is Enough”

For many students, this isn’t just about missing lectures.

It’s about academic plans, career plans, graduation timelines and everything else that comes with being a student.

Imagine planning your graduation, internship, NYSC timeline, job applications and other career moves, only for industrial action to enter the picture like:

“Good morning, I would like to disturb your plans.” 😭

That is why AAUASU says the government needs to act quickly before the situation creates even more problems for students across the state.

But Wait… What Happens After 72 Hours?

Now this is the part students will probably be watching closely.

AAUASU says that if there is no satisfactory and concrete resolution within the 72-hour period, the protest secretariat will be moved from Akungba-Akoko to Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Yes, Akure.

The union says the students will continue their peaceful demonstration there and take their concerns directly to the State Government.

So, basically, the protest is currently at Akungba level.

If nothing happens within 72 hours, Akure level may be unlocked. 👀😂

However, AAUASU stressed that any move to Akure will remain peaceful, responsible and within the law.

The goal, according to the union, is not violence or confrontation but dialogue, accountability and a lasting solution.

The union believes that government has a responsibility to listen to students and respond to their concerns before the disruption goes any further.

AAUASU has also called on students participating in the protest to remain peaceful, disciplined, united and responsible throughout the process.

The union emphasized that students’ strength lies in their unity, voice and courage, not violence.
